How do you adjust the steering wheel on a Bad Boy mower?

If you need to adjust the steering wheel of your Bad Boy mower, then here are some quick steps to follow.

  1. Locate pushrods. The pushrods connect the handlebars to the transmissions.
  2. Loosen Heim joint. Loosen the 9/16″ jam nut on the backside of the Heim joint.
  3. Remove Heim joint. Once it’s loosened, pull down on the Heim joint to remove it.
  4.  Adjust pushrods length. You can now adjust the length of the pushrods by spinning the Heim joint in or out.
  5. Replace Heim joint. Compress the spring on the Heim joint, and it should snap back on. Remember to tighten the jam nut.

If your mower tends to creep forward, you will want to shorten the length of the rod slightly by about one round. Conversely, if your mower tends to creep backwards, you will want to lengthen the rod slightly. Again one round should be enough. It may take a couple of tiny adjustments before you get the right balance for your mower.
